DOG CLASSES REPORT - Judge Tony Granger (Shadybower)

A big thank you to George, Agnes and all the committee for their kind invitation to judge the Dog classes at their 2011 Championship Show.  Also many thanks to my two very able stewards for their excellent work in keeping the show running smoothly.

Veteran Dog (3 entered)
1st Baldwin's Ch Fortonpark G'Day Bruce.
Good Sized male of 8 ¼ years.  Beautiful head with classic markings, good strong neck. Plenty of bone for his size, carrying correct body weight, looking good on the move holding his topline well with plenty of reach and drive.  Super temperament.  Reserve Best Veteran in Show.
2nd Bird's Bernsteph Louis Vuitton ShCM.  Another example of excellent breed type.  Just 8 years old.  Strong broad head with well defined stop, kind dark eyes, well shaped broad muzzle.  Good chest with excellent legs with nice round feet.  Topline good in stance and on the move.
3rd McLeod's Torralbaz Hogmanay.   Medium sized 7 years old.  Very good body shape, nice level topline, enough bone for size.  Very easy on the move.  Not the head of my first or second but overall a good sound dog.

1st Hellingsworth's Carabaz Ice Nine.
Just a baby of 7 months well grown for his age with nice bone and substance.  Pretty head shape with very dark markings, in nice jet black coat.  A little on the curly side but that will go as he matures.  Moved round the ring with ease.
2nd Marsden & Robertson's Trudaleaze Jethro Adice.  Another 7 months baby a little apprehensive today.  Needs to build his confidence at being handled.  He did move round the ring well with a nice easy drive.  Gave his handler a bit of a hard time.

Puppy Dog (5)

Nice promising tall dog.  Good overall outline, now needing to broaden out in chest and continue his development.  A nice well balanced boy, with a pleasing manner.  Good movement both ways with a nice side extension covering the ground well.  Reserve Best Puppy in Show.

BITCH CLASSES REPORT - Judge Mark Wakeland (Bramikdel)

It was a pleasure and a privilege to judge for the club, and I had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. My thanks to the club for the invitation, and for their hospitality. There were some excellent exhibits on the day amongst a strong entry. Although the dreadful weather forced us inside, whilst it served to wet everything through in a very literal sense, it didn’t seem to dampen everyone’s spirits - (if you’ll excuse the metaphor) it’s a credit to the exhibitors - and their dogs - that everyone remained so upbeat, despite the best efforts of the (not so) great Scottish weather! The committee, as ever, worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly, not just for the show, but for the whole weekend.

Veteran Bitch  (8)
It is always a pleasure to judge our golden oldies, and this was no exception - in fact particularly this class which was a strong class with quality in depth.

1st Baldwin’s Fortonpark Sheilado.  8 year old bitch in excellent condition. Good head and eye, well marked and good compact shape with good conformation. Moved soundly and with drive, belying her mature years.
2nd Baldwin’s Ch Fortonpark Sheilablige. It was very close between these two (litter sisters) and she has many similar attributes to 1. She is in excellent condition, is a good shape and moved well, although her front movement was just not quite as strong.
3rd Gerrard’s Ch. Torralbaz Posh persuasion. Another quality bitch in what was a class of real substance. In top condition, good conformation and substantial body - although her ample proportions meant that her movement was not quite as fluent and cohesive.
Res Boyd's Lujento Senza Madonna
VHC Tull's Holzern Rosy Future

Minor Puppy Bitch  (8)
1st Chandler’s Sennenson Miss Maja. 7 month old bitch who really impressed. Lovely shape and conformation with good compact proportions. Good depth of chest and strong level topline. Correct angulation from all views which unsurprisingly led to good movement, but what was surprising was that she was well coordinated on the move for one so young with her steady even gait and ability to cover the ground with an unfussy fluency. Well marked bar the minor issue of no white toes but her abundance of other qualities could not be denied. Pleased to award Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Show.
2nd Mair and Hartley-Mair’s Meadowpark Living the Dream. Lovely young bitch who, at just 6 months shows much promise. Good shape, correct angles and a feminine head with a lovely expression, moved well but has not quite settled into a consistent stride - particularly viewed from the front - but she has time on her side.
3rd Cummin’s Cloanquaich Im Art Ha. Pleasing bitch, with good head and eye, good markings and well shaped body. In good condition and moved well.
Res Bailey & Williams' Carabaz Robinas Sky At Timarabai
VHC Hay's Pasturegreen Snow Boots.

Puppy Bitch  (6)
1st Chandler’s Sennenson Miss Maja.
2nd Slade’s Jaybiem Voodou at Potterspride. 10 month old bitch of many fine qualities. Good head and eye, well marked with sound - and solid - construction. She presents an excellent silhouette, although to my eye at present she is perhaps a tad too substantial which just took the edge of here otherwise excellent movement and presentation.
3rd Gerrard’s Torralbaz Lady of the Manor. 9 month old, with a very pretty and feminine head and expression. Well proportioned body and good outline, and although she’ll mature her movement at the moment is not quite as well balanced as 1 and 2.
Res Cumming's Noralu Mystical Dream Cum Clanquaich
VHC McKenzie's Noralu Lady Gabriella

Junior Bitch  (11)
1st Pawlyszyn's Meterabern Disco Diva. Attractive young bitch with a very well defined head with good strop and furrow, dark eye and good bite. Nicely proportioned with good conformation, strong topline and shown in excellent condition. Moved fluently and with drive.
2nd Mair and Hartley-Mair’s Meadowpark Whispers Breeze. Taller bitch, but who nevertheless is well constructed with sound conformation and good angles. Pretty, feminine head and well marked. Carries topline well on the move.
3rd Tull’s Brogholme Moonchild (RAF). Lively young bitch, soundly constructed and pleasing lines. Was at times slightly fidgety but when settled moves well.Res Instone's Kinelarty Nordic Freya At Staubach.
VHC Davidson's Meadowpark Whisper's Shadow.

Yearling Bitch  (10)
1st Hogg’s Ischka Van’t Maroyke to Buganeezee. 21 month old bitch, medium stature but excellent overall shape and construction. Good head, nicely proportioned into neck and topline. Moved crisply and cleanly and was just that bit more ‘finished’ than 2
2nd Pawlyszyn's Meterabern Disco Diva.
3rd Marsden and Robertson’s Trudaleze Shes A Maze Zing. Another bitch of medium stature, of correct proportions and conformation. Good head and expression, moved with vigour. Not in quite such profuse coat at the moment, but nonetheless of sound qualities.
Res Toms' Emberfay Moonglow
VHC Jeffries' Windlenell Quita

Maiden Bitch  (3, 2)
1st Hay’s Pasturegreen Snow Boots. A puppy from a previous class, she is very lively exhibiting that typical puppy exuberance - which although great to see, is not ideal for the show ring. She has plenty of time to settle though and far better to be outgoing than nervous! That said, she went better in this class than the previous and was more settled. Looks slightly rangy at the moment but shows promise and has all the attributes to enable her to develop into a very good dog. She has good shape and when moving calmly, can move well.

Novice Bitch  (5, 1)
1st Notman’s Elnside the Wild Child. At just a year old, she is progressing well. Pretty expression with good eye and bite, but head needs to develop on a little more, which it will no doubt do in time. Of good temperament, well marked and moved reasonably well carrying a level topline.
2nd Davidson’s Meadowpark Whispers Shadow. Good head and almond shape eye, correct ears and bite. Of good shape and presenting a pleasing picture but currently lacks a little substance, although she has time on her side.
3rd Cummin’s Fortonpark Secret Star. Young bitch of promising nature, although perhaps not looking at her very best at the moment.. However, she has a sound shape, a good, if as yet underdeveloped, head and moved around the ring well
Res Hay's Pasturegreen Snow Boots

Graduate Bitch  (8)
1st Green’s Fortonpark Millie My Love at Pasturegreen. Compact, cobby shape bitch in excellent condition. Well marked with dark tan, dark eye and good head. Well made with correct shoulders and well angulated hindquarters. Moved with drive and purpose.
2nd Marsden and Robertson's Trudaleaze Im A Maze Zing. Not in such profuse coat as 1, but well made, similarly compact bitch, all in proportion and presented an agreeable picture both when presented and on the move, where she covered the ground with aplomb.
3rd Grimes' Fortonpark Moll Flanders. Young bitch with much to like with a pleasant feminine expression and sound construction although she can at present appear a little long in body from certain angles. She moved well, with a good gait.
Res Rossall's Fortonpark Molly Malone
VHC Jeffries' Windlenell Quita

Post Graduate Bitch  (11)
1st Grayling's Lujento Per Una. Lovely compact bitch. Not of huge physical size but within standard and proof of the rule size isn’t everything! She is beautifully proportioned, soundly constructed and in top class condition. She is well muscled and this led to true and straight movement with a effortless gait. Pleased to award Reserve CC.
2nd Addison’s Meadowpark Do it with Style. Another quality exhibit in a strong class. Good head and expression, good overall shape, but not quite the excellent top line of 1. Moved well and with gusto.
3rd McAllister’s Tiggerific Hunny Bee. Somewhat taller and rangier bitch, but of sturdy construction, with a well made solidity and a feminine head and expression. Moved well.
Res Instone's Tiggerifik Lady In Red At Staubach
VHC Rossall's Fortonpark Molly Malone

Mid Limit Bitch  (5, 2)
1st Baldwin’s Fortonpark Arriva La Diva. Soundly made bitch of solid construction and shown in excellent condition. Good head and eye, and presents a quality picture both when standing and on the move, although her front movement possibly not one of her best qualities she has an abundance of others which taken together make for a exhibit of high quality.
2nd Chandler's Bernsteph Cartier at Sennensson. A very close 2nd and perhaps didn’t show to her best advantage on the day. However, she is a good bitch with many fine qualities: Of sound construction, broad skull, dark eye and well marked.
3rd McCormick's Torralbaz Diamond Princess. Slightly less substantial in build but of sufficient bone and sound construction. Strode out well.

Limit Bitch  (9)
1st Gerrard's Monalou Dutch by Design at Torralbaz. Good looking bitch, well proportioned and in good condition and coat.. She has a good head and face and is possessed of a slightly narrower type muzzle. She is well marked with rich tan - moved the best of the class and held her topline very well.
2nd Edge’s Monologue Dutch Affair. Of similar qualities to 1 (litter sister) but if needing to split hairs, so to speak, she just lost out on head and expression with not quite such dark pigmentation on her face. But that’s the fine detail, and she has an plethora of other qualities which make her a very good bitch indeed. 3rd Baldwin's Fortonpark It’s a Star. Quality, mature bitch of sound construction, just didn’t quite move with that smooth fluency of movement on the day.
Res Bailey & Williams' Carabaz Planet Queen At Timarabai
VHC Kelly's Skylyns Kissin' Cousin At Belhof

Open Bitch  (10)
1st Gurney’s Ch. Monalou Little Miss Swiss. Quality exhibit, typical Bernese head, well marked, good pigmentation. Of good bone, good construction and well developed musculature leading to a flowing, powerful movement which covers the ground seemingly effortlessly. Pleased to award bitch CC, Reserve Best in Show & Best Opposite Sex.
2nd Wilson’s Monalou Betty Boop at Blumental. Another litter sister 1&2, and although she appears slightly longer than her sister she shares many excellent qualities. Pretty and feminine head and expression, sound construction with ample bone she moved with a purposeful gait and covered the ground well.. Ran her sister very close!
3rd Sutton’s Ch. Bernsteph J’adore Dior. Of lighter construction, but nevertheless very well constructed and with correct angles front and rear. Body in pristine condition and moved with drive and fluency.
