I would like to thank the committee of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Scotland for inviting me to judge at their prestigious club show. It was a great honour, you made me feel very welcome and also for my gift which I will treasure.


A big thank you to my steward, John who ran my ring efficiently. Also to all who entered and took my decisions well on the day.


Veteran dog (1 entry, 0 absent)


1st. Addison’s Torralbaz Lord Of The Manor
:- Well presented 7 year old, strong masculine head with correct eye shape and colour, tight lips, correct bite, good front assembly, well ribbed, nicely rounded rump, well muscled at rear, correct length of tail, straight well boned legs on neat tight feet, would prefer a bit more length of neck and more bend of stifle, coat well groomed. moved well. Reserve Best Veteran In Show.

1st. Dickson’s Monalou Raffael At Geruth
:- 10 month old confident puppy with super expression, dark eye, tight lips with correct bite, ears used well, correct medium length of neck, broad chest, deep brisket, good body ratios, straight legs with plenty of bone, neat compact feet, rear well angulated and muscled, hocks well let down, held topline on the move, presented well, nicely marked
with a nice rich tan, well handled. Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy In Show.
2nd. Scott’s Szarhegyaljai Elyjah At Scobern (IMP HUN)
:- 11 month old, masculine head with strong flat skull, correct bite, longer in muzzle than 1st, nice broad chest and level topline, straight front legs on compact feet, good turn of stifle, correct tail set and
length, needs to build up rear to strengthen rear pasterns. a little unsettled today.

1st. Addison’s Monalou Bollinger
:- Gorgeous 21 month old dog, My find of the day, forgave his lack of coat as he excelled in so many departments, balanced all through, superb expression, excels in head, strong flat skull with well defined stop, super eye
shape and colour, ears set high and used well, good bite, strong muzzle, muscular medium length of neck, well angulated throughout, nice depth of brisket, well boned legs on neat compact feet, level topline, would like more muscle at rear, good turn of
stifle, tad long in hock, correct tail set and carried well, superbly marked, his handler got the best out of him, fluid smooth mover, best mover of the day, good temperament, loved him, will watch his progress with interest. Reserve Best Dog.
2nd. Watson’s Monalou Just Monty
:- Exuberant boy, strong in head and muzzle, would prefer a darker eye, excels in bone, broad chest and good depth of brisket, neat compact feet, well presented in a full coat, carried his tail a tad high on the move.

:- Stood alone but deserved place, Mature medium sized boy, strong head with correct stop, dark brown eye round in shape, good ear placement, would prefer more length in neck, strong chest, deep brisket, topline strong and held on the move, well off for bone, good turn of stifle, rounded rump, tail bit short but carried correctly on the move, fluid mover, nice honest well balanced dog, well presented in a nice coat with rich tan and superb front feathers.
considered for reserve dog.

:- Impressive looking unmistakable male, up to standard in height, excellent vibrant and alert personality, strong in head, flat skull, strong muzzle, slight furrow, nice dark almond shaped eyes, correct dentition, prefer more length of neck, strong in shoulders, broad chest, well ribbed, strong in loin, super bone, balanced throughout, well muscled at rear, moved well once settled, presented in a full coat with superb feathering. tail never stopped wagging! Best Dog and Best in Show.
2nd. Hastings' Bernemcourt Liv’n On A Prayer
:- Beautiful looking boy, excels in head and expression, slightly smaller than 1st, strong in head and muzzle, tight lips, ears correct and used well, fabulous bone, well ribbed back, broad chest, level topline and
held on the move, well muscled, very well turned out, well handled, moved close behind today and carried his tail high.
3rd. Wilson’s Deheubarth Rhodi At Gelbackler :- Smaller all over than first two, but balanced, stunning head, kind expression, beautiful dark eye, strong muzzle, would like a bit more neck, nice topline, excellent turn of stifle, correct tail length and carried
well, would like to see feet tidier, superb feathering. paced at first, moved better once settled.

1st. Scott’s Welshbern One Vision At Scobern ShCM
:- Masculine head with super dark almond shaped eyes, strong in muzzle, good dentition, correct length of neck, well ribbed, strong loin, well off for bone, neat compact feet, good turn of stifle, well let
down hocks, moved well once settled, well presented.
2nd. King’s Elnside Going The Distance :- Similar in type to 1st, dark eye, strong in bone, level topline, correct length of tail, lost out on rear movement.
3rd. Carty’s Floskirk Berneray :- Smaller all over, but in proportion, super expression with good head and nice dark eye, correct stop and muzzle, deep brisket, superb bone good turn of stifle and well let down hocks, rounded rump but tail a tad short, presented well.

:- 7 year old, this bitch filled my eye full of quality and excelled in so many breed traits, beautiful feminine expression, nice head with correct stop and length of muzzle, rich almond eye, correct ear shape and set well,
correct length of neck, nicely angulated throughout, level topline, good turn of stifle, good strong straight front legs sat on nice compact feet, well let down hocks, good length of tail, moved with style and very well presented. Best Veteran Bitch, Reserve

:- 8 and 1/2 year old medium sized bitch, pretty expression, bit rounder eye than 1st, would like more neck, well ribbed, good bend of stifle, well presented, fluid movement.
3rd. Davidson’s Meadowpark Whispers Shadow :- Feminine head and expression, longer in muzzle than first two, level topline, good bone to neat compact feet, nicely angulated at rear, correct tail set and length, well presented, mover a little wide at front
today.

:- Very promising 8 month old pretty bitch, nice head with lovely eye and correct bite, correct
muzzle, well angulated throughout, good bone, level topline, correct length tail, moved well.
2nd. Barton’s Bernervalley Gilmore Girl :- Pretty girl full of herself and with an alert expression, nice eye, good length of neck, broad chest, well angulated, straight front legs sat on neat feet, tail a tad short, enjoyed making her handler earn her place, a bit
more ringcraft needed.

1st. Gerrard’s Monalou Contessa At Torralbaz
:- 10 month old superb bitch, fabulous head and expression, nice dark almond shaped eye, good stop, tight lips and good bite, correct ratios, well angulated front and rear, level topline held on the move, nicely rounded rump, well let down hock, well boned straight legs leading to round compact feet, correct tail set and length, fluid movement just starting to get tired in the challenge, very well presented, well handled. :- Very pretty bitch, fabulous expression, looked a nice picture on the stand, carried tail well, well groomed, a bit spooked today and was difficult to go over which was a big shame because she moved beautifully.

2nd. Cowley’s Collansues Rock Angel :- Bigger all over than 1st, nice head with feminine expression, dark eye, correct ears and used well, good spring of rib, good turn of stifle, tad longer in loin than 1st, tail carried high on the move, well presented.
